Launching the first DiFF Project Report
Today we are pleased to announce the release of our first DiFF Project Report. The report covers our activities in the second year of our project, from May 2023-April 2024. During this period, we carried out a range of desk-based and field-based research activities, including:
Conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) on the state of research (qualitative and quantitative) on the impact of digital financial services on smallholder farming households.
Presented the preliminary results of the quantitative side of the SLR at the 68th Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES), 6-9 February, 2024, Canberra, Australia.
Carried out the first round (of three) of qualitative research in Laos and Cambodia, conducting interviews and pilot groups with farmers in peri-urban areas.
Collected secondary data (quantitative) for Laos and Cambodia.
Started data collection for a household survey in Cambodia.
Produced databases of financial inclusion stakeholders in Laos and Cambodia.
Drafted reports on the ecosystems for the financial inclusion of farmers in Laos and Cambodia.
Held a stakeholder workshop in Vientiane, Laos, to obtain feedback on the draft Laos Ecosystem Mapping Report.
Produced journal articles, book chapters and conference papers on our project (see publications list).
In this report we provide details about our findings, and present a road map for the remainder of the project. We look forward to hearing your feedback and ideas for the next three years of our project!
